Josephine Marie DiPrima (nee Lupo), passed away July 24, 2015 at Sunrise of Bloomingdale Assisted Living.  A long-time resident of Mt Prospect, Jo was the beloved wife of the late Michael, loving mother of Michael DiPrima (Laurel), Richard DiPrima (Kathy) and Jacqueline Chambers.  Adoring grandmother of Christopher, Xavier and Cole.  Fond aunt, great-aunt and cousin to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaspar and Laura (nee Bruno) Lupo, brothers, John (the late Marilyn) and Robert (Patricia), and sister-in-law Marianne Black.  Born April 14, 1927 in Chicago, Jo was a graduate of Holy Name Cathedral High School.

Prior to her marriage, Jo worked for Zeff Publishing.  Jo’s greatest joy came from caring for her husband, children and extended family. She volunteered with various scouting and school organizations in Chicago and Mt Prospect.    Jo delighted in her administrative work at the Chicago  Academy for the Arts,  which her daughter attended, where she was affectionately called “mom” by its many talented students.

Visitation will be held at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mount Prospect, on July 31 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.  and at the church one hour prior to the service.    Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 11:00 AM  at St. Raymond de Penafort  Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt.83) at Lincoln St., Mount Prospect.

Internment immediately following at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to RRAF of Lombard, Illinois, which provides assistance to adults with disabilities and their families, to which Jo devoted much time and support (www.rraf.org) or to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
